28 spots open at Municipal Hospital from Bălți
The Municipal Hospital from Bălți lack pediatricians, oncologists, oculists, anesthesiologists. A total of 28 spots are open.
This situation persists for two year. Doctors don't resit much at that worpalce due to small salary and bad working conditions.
The hospital has only 75% of needed staff, while most specialists form the Hospitals are elderly people.
"There are so many spots open, but most of all we need oculists. Currently we have only one, but we need 2 to 3 more, as patients make rows in the hall for a consultation" Deputy Chief of Medicine, Mihail Lâsâi declared.
"Most recent loss was in the ER section, a doctor went to Cluj, while another to Germany to continue their practice" Pediatric Chief, Maria Neamţu stated.
Even currently employed doctors admit that they are searching for other job opportunities with better salaries.
One of the most sought out after places is Romania, where a doctor's salary begin from 600 euro, while in Moldova a doctor is paid 1800 lei.
"Everyday i travel Glodeni-Bălți. We also have people from Soroca, from Fălești. There are even those renting apartments here in Bălți, without their parents assistance, but it's impossible to take care of a family, especially if children are involved" resident doctor, Petru Gorodeţchi said.
"If nothing will improve here, I will most likely also leave for Romania, seeing as we can easily find jobs there" resident doctor, Irina Turtureanu claims.
Even patients feel the lack of doctors. Some disclosed that they need to wait for days until a doctor attends to them.
The institution believe that one way to ensure that doctors remain is to offer living conditions, but the Hospital doesn't have any apartments that could be offered.
"A dormitory from the medicine school has to be give to us, so that we can find an investor and be able to offer our residents a place to live in" Chief of Medicine, Serghei Rotaru said.
At the moment at the Municipal Hospital from Bălți has 1830 employees, including 319 doctors.
