Entrepreneurial patent holders and self-employed individuals in the retail trade can benefit from a 50% and 60% reduction respectively, in the payment of the compulsory health insurance by 31 March.

According to the representatives of the State Tax Service (STS), this provision is stipulated in the Law on compulsory health insurance funds for 2019 and the amount of the premium set for 2019 is the figure of 4,056 lei.

Accordingly, in the retail trade, entrepreneurial patient holders buy insurance with 2,028 lei (50% discount) and self-employed individuals buy insurance with 1,622.40 lei (60%) 

The STS informs that the insurance premium can be paid through the Mpay government electronic payment service. This service allows several payment options: by bank card, via internet banking, at payment terminals, but also at the offices of commercial banks and post offices.

At the offices of the commercial banks and the post offices, the persons present themselves only with the identity document.

In this context, the STS urges applicants / entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals in the retail trade to benefit from the applicable reduction only in the first 3 months of the year.
