7-year-old bitten by rabid polecat in Hânceşti

A 7-year-old child from Hânceşti was admitted to the hospital a few days ago, after being bitten by a rabid polecat. According to the National Center for Public Health, the child was attacked while working in the field with his grandmother.
The animal turned out to be infected with rabies, after a medical expertise.
Citizens from Hânceşti and Leova were vaccinated against rabies, after four cases of people being bitten by polecats were reported.
Physicians advice our citizens, in case of being bitten by stray animals, to wash the injuries under flowing water and disinfected them with iodine.
