71 cases of measles in Ceadar-Lunga. Local authorities do everything possible to stop the outbreak
UPDATE 10:34. According to the last information, the number of the measles cases from Ceadar-Lunga raised and reached 71. 48 of the children were hospitalzied. According to the local authorities, only one of the teenagers was vaccinated.
The outbreaks were revealed in:
- Ceadîr-Lunga - 57;
- Vulcănesti - 5;
- Taraclia - 5;
- Ungheni - 4;
- Nisporeni - 1;
"Children's condition is average. Some of them have fever, while others have bronchitis and pneumonia. The doctors will investigate them for 10 days", said Valentin Cara, the president of Ceadar-Lunga district.
Ceadar-Lunga local authorities announced a vast range of measures to stop spreading the measles outbreak. This happened after 28 cases were revealed in Ungheni at a summer camp.
The virus offected the minors from Copceac, Beşghioz and Cazaclia.
The public workers from Ceadar-Lunga postponed all the cultural events from this period and closed the kindergartens.
Also, the doctors go to the people's houses and check the children.
Totally, 46 cases of measles were revealed in the country.
The infected patients were found in Vulcanesti, in two villages from Ungheni and one from Taraclia districts.
At the request of Pavel Filip, the Ministry of Health will investigate the causes of the outbreaks.
