80% of free medicines are made in Europe
80% of the free medicines are fabricated in European countries. The authorities say that these medicines are of good quality.
The Agency of Medicines say that all the medicines imported from other countries pass a thorough check up.
"All the medicines that are made in Moldova, but also the ones imported from other countries pass a check up. These obey certain requirements."
Starting February 1, the free medicines' list has been extended. More and more Moldovans will receive free medicines.
Ana Bociu is 81. She says she receives many free medicines.
"Here I have a bag of free medicines. For some medicines, I have discounts, I pay 30 lei instead of 73 lei. It was very hard before. I was only buying pills when I had money", said Ana Bociu.
"The majority of the free medicines take part of bronchial asthma category. Here we talk about Fluticazon medicine that costed between 173 and 600 lei. Now, it is free. Perendopril costed between 150 and 200 lei. Now it is free", said Anna Spinei, chemist.
The free medicines list includes 150 types of pills.
