A drunk driver from Rezina hit by car a patrol inspector and ran from the scene of accident
A patrol inspector from Rezina was hit by a drunk driver with a car. It all started from the fact that he asked the man to stop, after they have been noticed that he drives chaotic.
The man stopped, but he refused to present the papers to the lawmen and locked himself in the car.
When the inspectors tried to unlock the doors, the driver started the engine and tried to leave the scene, kicking one of the police in the foot. The lawyer arrived at the hospital with a variety of injuries, and the driver was detained and was facing several years of jail.
Five patrol inspectors in Rezina had a fire night yesterday. They stopped a driver who was chaotic, and as the man tried to flee, he followed a movie-like pursuit. The man was detained after buffing the car from a restaurant gate.
He was handcuffed and escorted to the Rezina Police Inspectorate. There, the man refused to pass the alcohol test. The injured policeman is 51 years old and is currently admitted to the district hospital. He gave us a brief interview on the phone.
"At some point he suddenly accelerated the car in the back where he hit me by the car, then he stopped and walked ahead. I have concussion, injuries to my right legs, the right ones are not really serious, but the cerebral concussion is, I have pains head", said patrol inspector hit, Iurie Zaharia.
The driver was detained for 72 hours and chose two criminal cases for up to two years of jail. The 43 years old driver has previously been documented for drunk driving.
