A man and a woman, a native of Falesti, got into the hands of anti-corruption officers and prosecutors after asking for a bribe of €17,500 to cover up a file.
According to the survey data, the two allegedly had an influence on the magistrates of the Chisinau Court and could determine them to issue a non-custodial decision on a criminal case started on the scam. They would have acted in complicity with unidentified people at this stage of documentation.
Thus, the €17,500 extorted were transferred under the control of the CNA in three installments, the last being € 15,000. Hence, the money was found in the house rented by one of the suspects during the searches.
Currently, the man and woman are in CNA custody for 72 hours. The implementation of the preventive measure is to be decided on.
If they are found guilty, the two risk up to 6 years in prison or a fine of up to 200,000 lei.
