Pensioners highly welcome the government's initiative to improve people's well-being and express their heartfelt gratitude for increased pensions. A retiree has conveyed a message to PM Pavel Filip on a video published on Internet.  

"I want to send to Mr Pavel Filip my sincere gratitude for pension recalculation which enabled higher pension by 800 lei. God bless you", said the old man. 

Since January 1, minimal pension increased 10% from 1,589 lei. Moreover, old age pensions were raised 115 lei, allowances for people with disabilities were raised an average of 101 lei.

On April 1, the government also recalculated the indexation which enabled higher pensions by 5%
