Happiness tears at the maternity ward from Nisporeni. Mothers of the newborns received the gift boxes from Vlad Plahotniuc's foundation, Edelweiss. On Saint Gheorghe, in Doroftei family from Bacseni village, a child was born.

"It is our first child. When I saw how small he is, I thanked God. We named him Gheorghe", said Anastasia Doroftei, mother of the child.

The 19 year old mother started to cry when she received the gift box. She says that the pampers, the clothes and the mattress are a great present for them.

Olesea Gudima is another woman who became a mother for the fourth time. She has three boys home and now she has a daughter. The woman said that usually, her relatives give her presents.

"I have never received that many presents before. Thank you very much. It is a very beautiful gesture", said Olesea Gudima, mother of four children.

Other mothers were happy too.

"All the presents were absolutely necessary. I was surprised of the Edelweiss gesture."

"I am glad of the present box I received."

Since the "A new life campaign" was launched, the Nisporeni maternity ward received 450 gift boxes.

"The mothers are surprised and pleased by the gift", said Liuba Zgrivaci, the director of Nisporeni maternity ward.

"The children are the future of our country. We should invest in the new generation", said Lidia Cucos, deputy director of Edelweiss foundation.

The "A new life" campaign was launched two years ago at the Institute of Mother and the Child. Over 14 thousand mothers received gifts since then.
