A Romanian arrested in Chisinau for stealing a cell phone and 5 000 lei
A 43-year-old woman from Romania, employed at a construction site in the Capital was arrested by the police on suspicion of stealing a cell phone and robbing two sellers.
Supposedly the suspect addressed to the Bureau for Migration and Asylum of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she stole from an employee's table a cell phone worth 10 000 lei. Afterwards she left the building with a young man.
Her actions were caught on a surveillance camera was taken as proof, the cellphone was seized and will soon be returned to its rightful owner.
The suspect is also implicated in a theft, where she approached a booth from Centru sector and shamelessly took 2 500 lei from the sellers table. She has also stolen 2 500 lei from a shop trading children toys.
The woman was recognized by all victims and arrested for 72 hours.
Currently a criminal file was registered on her name for theft and robbery. According to the law she risks a 11 to 17 thousand lei fine, 180 to 240 hours of unpaid community service, or 2 to 5 years of imprisonment.
