A thousand persons with visual and hearing impairment will receive special equipment
A thousand persons who suffer from deafness and blindness from the Capital will benefit of eye prostheses, hearing aids and walking sticks. According to the chief of Health Department, Mihai Moldovanu, the City Hall allocated five million lei for the project. Al of the counted appliances will be delivered to the persons with deficiencies starting with the next month.
The first who will benefit will be the persons with a serious handicap. At the Oncology Institute the confection of the eye prostheses already started. 23 from 37 person have already received their prostheses.

''We had a proposal to sign a contract with the Central Territory Association that will sent 50 patients from the Blind Association. For some persons we should just remake them, while for others we should start from zero'', said Larisa Catrinici, the director of the Oncology Institute.
For the persons with seeing deficiencies there were bought over 540 hearing thermometers that can be found at the Bling Association from Moldova.
The thermometers were transmitted to the Central Territory Association and the Association of the blind. The hearing aids were transmitted to the Central Territory Agency too.
For the persons with hearing problems, there were bought over 350 hearing aids, their warranty period is 12 months.
''Totally, we spent two million lei. From the total budget, the municipal council will spent three other million on other necessities'', said Mihai Moldovanu, the chief of the Health Department within the City Hall of Chisinau.
The project will last a couple of years, till all the necessities of the persons with deficiencies will be covered. Totally, in Moldova there are 4811 persons with hearing disabilities and other 850 persons with seeing disabilities.
