About 300 amateur athletes participated at EcoRun competition on Independence Day
About 300 amateur athletes from Moldova, Romania and Ukraine participated in the Ecorun competition in Moldovan Codri organized to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Moldova's independence. The comeptition was organized in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports with the support of Bemol, Moldtelecom and Cricova companies.
"We are pleased that the several hundred athletes have welcomed the idea of celebrating this important holiday for our country in an unusual way. This unique race was designed to promote cultural and natural values of Moldova, a goal that was achieved because the race passed through the most beautiful places of our country" , said one of the organizers, Liviu Croitoru.
He said that "The organization of this celebration was made possible through shared values of the brands that represent Moldova, Bemol, Moldtelecom and Cricova. Thousands of people had the chance to see some of the most beautiful locations and maybe have the desire to have an active and more healthy life style, travel through the country, rediscover the natural and cultural heritage, alongside participants in this race. "
Runners competed in two races - 25 kilometers and 15 kilometers, on a road to the locations that are unique heritage of Moldova: Woods Reserve "Plaiul Fagului" resevation, Balanesti Hill, Bic meadow.
All winners received diplomas and cups, and athletes who have reached the finish, received ceramic medals.
