Access to the internet is one of Economy and Infrastructure Ministry's priorities
Implementing policies and supporting the business environment in the field of information technology, infrastructure development, Internet services and TV distribution, training IT specialists were the main topics discussed at today's meeting of Economy and Infrastructure Minister Chiril Gaburici with the General Manager of Orange Moldova, Julien Ducarroz.
The Minister of Economy and Infrastructure talked about the possibilities of developing the ICT sector by referring to the first IT park "Moldova IT Park", the capitalization of the digital content in the Republic of Moldova, but also the policies of the state to support the business environment.
"We want to expand the concept of IT park, which is virtual and offers flexibility to economic agents.But we also need the support of business partners to develop this idea. Moldova must be competitive and attractive for investors, "said Chiril Gaburici.
In this context, it was discussed the provisions of the Law on Shared Use of the Electronic Communications Infrastructure, which is to stimulate the entrepreneurial activity on this segment. According to Chiril Gaburici, the IT industry is developed in the Republic of Moldova, also due to the contribution of mobile operators.
In the discussions, the parties also referred to the development of cyber security programs, increasing the number of public services provided in electronic form, infrastructure development.
Other discussed topics refered to the need to modify the curriculum, to equip the educational institutions with the necessary equipment. According to Julien Ducarroz, Orange Moldova intends to establish partnerships with the universities of the Republic of Moldova to contribute with expertise and best practices in the field, as well as to train IT specialists and develop artificial intelligence.
The general manager of Orange Moldova congratulated Chiril Gaburici and wished him success in the office of Minister of Economy and Infrastructure.
