The administration of a fitness center from the Capital was sanctioned with 6,500 lei.
The fine was applied for inappropriate processing of customer personal data through the video surveillance system.
Representatives of the National Center for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Moldova took this case and established that the video surveillance system, which captures client images, was installed without CNPDCP notification.
At the same time, other devices were installed in the changing rooms and in the access area to the shower cabins, which were meant to imitate the video surveillance cameras.
As a result, CNPDCP issued a decision to remove the devices that imitated video surveillance cameras. Also, the representatives of the fitness room were informed about the obligation to notify managed records containing personal data.
