More than 500 students have the opportunity to do this year, and most of the places are in the budget, according to the Nicoale Testemitanu University of Medicine.
Early in the morning, dozens of young people came to file their files. They hope that they will hold their first contest at the specialty they have chosen.
"Cardiology, because I enjoyed it very much during my studies, but also because there is a shortage of cardiologists in our city."
Nicu Rabac chose the neurology specialty. He argues that it has not been decided in which institution to work after residency, but he certainly knows he wants to stay in the country.
"It is a very interesting specialty. It has a lot to do with the human brain, and I like studying the processes that take place there and treating people with pathologies of the nervous system," said student Nicolae Rabac.
If at Neurology, Cardiology or Gynecology sites are completed each year, then Emergency or Family Medicine specialty does not hurry to apply.
"For a few years now, the graduates of the medical faculty do not submit as we want them to do. It is a difficult specialty, a specialty that requires much effort, both physically and emotionally", said Vladislav Badan, responsible of Admission Comittee.
The Emergency Hospital Director claims that the small number of residents in the Emergency Medicine specialty is a heavy job involving more responsibility.
"Notwithstanding the efforts we make year after year, the registration for this specialty is very low. For example, last year, out of 35 places that were reserved for emergency medicine, only one resident enrolled," said the director Institute of Urgent Medicine, Mihai Ciocanu.
The admission to residential studies will end on 29 September. This year, 992 young people graduated from "Nicolae Testemiteanu" University, with 25 more than in 2017.
