Adrian Candu met Managing Director for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The portfolio of the BERD funded projects in Republic of Moldova and the priorities of the New Strategy of our country were discussed by the President of the Parliament, Andrian Candu, who had a meeting with Francis Malige, the Managing Director for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Adrian Candu mentioned that the Parliament will continue to make efforts for the consolidation of the institutional capacities of the National Bank and the development of the legislative framework in this sphere.
At his turn, Managing Director for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) was glad that the parliament approved to change the legislation in the financial-banking sphere and to attract foreign investments in this sector.
In this context, the official appreciated the thing that ''Transilvania'' Bank from Romania intends to buy an action pocket from the social capital of ''Victoriabank''. It is for the first time since 2007 when a foreign banking investor comes on Republic of Moldova's market. Thus, the Bank of Transilvania and EBRD will have a common pocket at Victoriabank.
Till the present moment, EBRD financed 116 projects in Republic of Moldova, worth over a milliard euros. The actual EBRD's portfolio is 478 million euros: 69% are allocated for infrastructure, 13% for the energetic sector, 10% for industry, trade and agrobusiness, 8% for financial institutions.
