African swine fever spreads slowly in Moldova. What did Pavel Filip enterprise?
Pavel Filip asked the responsible institutions to take the measures that will prevent spreading the swine fever in the Republic of Moldova. This subject was discussed today at the session convoked by Pavel Filip, in order to prevent the illnesses in Moldova.
According to the information, there were found hotbeds in Palanca, Stefan-Voda, Beschioz, Ceadir-Lunga, Tvardita and Taraclia district. In the last case, there were brought some evidences to confirm the presence of the virus and to stop spreading it. The specialists think that the virus spreads because of the meat that is imported from Ukraine.
The National Agency for Food Safety notified the reasons of the hotbeds.
At the same time, there were taken some measures that will prevent to extinguish the illness. Among the measures there is also the one to cleaning the trucks that transport meet.
In this context, the chief of the Executive requested the authorities to prove their responsibility to enterprise all the necessary actions to help get rid of the risk to make hotbeds in Moldova. In this sense, there was highlighted the importance to inform the citizens about the virus and forbid them to import meat.
"Taking into consideration the thing that Moldova is a small country and the swine fever spreads very fast, this can cause terrible consequences for the economy. In this sense, there was highlighted the importance to avoid this virus in our country", said Pavel Filip.
The swine fever is a contagious illness, that affects pigs. The virus is dangerous not only for animals, but also for people. The plan to prevent the spreading of swine fever in the Republic of Moldova was approved in 2016.
