Approximately one hundred Moldovans get poisoned weekly with drugs, pesticides and other chemicals. For 3% of them the end is tragic.
According to the National Center of Public Health, most frequently, the victims of this kind of intoxications are children under five.
Among the causes leading to intoxication are the incorrect storage of chemicals as well as the low level of knowledge about the risks they present.
In order to avoid intoxication the doctors recommend to throw away the expired drugs and to avoid storing of chemicals in recipients meant for food storage. The rooms should be regularly aired as well.
During the first 10 days of this month 64 persons got intoxicated, and two of them died.
