The US House of Representatives condemns the aggressions of Russia in eastern Europe, especially the constant threats to the territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova.
In a resolution adopted yesterday, the US congressmen express their support for NATO and reaffirm the sovereignty of partner countries in central and eastern Europe.
The United States supports and encourages the democratic aspirations of Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine, the statement said.
Congressman Steve Cohen, who initiated the draft resolution, voiced hope that the US president will discuss with his Russian counterpart at the Helsinki summit on the situation in eastern Europe.
Cohen added that it is vital that the subject of Russia's continuing aggression in Europe - against Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine, and the Baltic countries - should be on the agenda.
