An American company will invest in Customs Service Infrastructure from Moldova

The Customs Service Infrastructure and scanning processes at the crossing points will be upgraded. An American company has shown interest in investing in this sector. The foreign investor plans to modernize scanning processes, which will help increase import/export operations and reduce smuggling.
Aspects of the project implementation were discussed in New York during the meeting of Prime Minister Pavel Filip with the director of international projects development within the American company.
The foreign investor intends to develop the scanning infrastructure in all 10 Moldovan customs stations, with the possibility of scanning up to 100% both on the exit and on the entrance, on all categories of transport units and goods that are transported through the border Of the state.
Currently, the Customs Service can scan up to 50% of trucks leaving the country and up to 1% of buses, minibuses and cars.
The low level of scanning is explained by the lack of the necessary infrastructure.
The US company specializes in developing, deploying and implementing modern solutions for the inspection of goods, integration of scanners for information sharing and remote analysis of images obtained from the scanner.
