Officially, leader of PPDA, Andrei Năstase, who is running for Mayor of Chisinau, has not earned a single leu in the past two year, yet he is living in luxury. In the income declaration for 2016-2017, submitted to the Electoral Commission, the official indicated 0 lei.

Supposedly, in the past two years, Andrei Năstase lived on the money earned by his wife, who lives in Germany with their two children, having earned nearly 64 000 Euro. Another income of the family is children's indemnity, of over 14 000 Euro. Năstase also has two bank accounts, one in lei and another in Euro. The deposited amount of money is unknown. Despite having earned little in the past years, he still managed to purchase an agricultural land in 2017.
The lot was added to the nine he already possessed. Andrei Năstase is also the owner of 11 houses. According to the press, the most expensive one of them is located in Chisinau. Officially, the real estate, built on seven acres, has a surface of 156 square meters and is estimated to cost a little over 2 million lei. Still, journalists wrote that in reality, the house has 450 square meters and costs around 7 million lei. Despite having publicly recognized that the house belongs to him, the house is officially registered in his mother's name, who is 80-year-old and is living modestly in a village from Telenești district.
The press also wrote that Andrei Năstase owns a luxurious house in Bad Homburg town, Germany, 25 km from Frankfurt, where his wife and two children live. The same situation was later repeated with his mother-in-law. From the woman's accounts were withdrawn, through suspicious transactions, over 400 000 lei and nearly 150 000 Euro. Both transfers were admitted by the leader of PPDA.
"I build a house and purchased land. Part of the money were deposited on my mother's account. You can notice that a similar amount of money were also deposited on my mother-in-law's account. As you can see, I deeply care for them. It is normal" Andrei Năstase said.

Later, Țopa became his godfather, while Năstase his lawyer.
