Andrei Nastase registered on mayor elections lists without Maia Sandu's approval
Together, but on our own. Andrei Nastase decided to register on election lists for the mayor of the Capital elections, without making an agreement with his political partner, Maia Sandu.
PDA members announced about this within a press conference. They said they hope the PAS members will understand and accept this decision.
"PAS members said they will comment on this decision soon. I insisted on a common candidate of the pro-European wing and we are waiting for the PAS reply", said Andrei Nastase, PPDA leader.
Igor Grosu, the General Secretary of PAS declared that the party will take a decision in this sense only after Central Election Commission will announce the date of the elections.
Previously, Maia Sandu announced that PAS will participate at the Capital elections, but they avoided to say if they support PDA's candidate.
Andrei Nastase asked for the support of other parties, but the Liberal Democratic Party didn't reply. The PLDM deputy, Tudor Deliu mentioned they are waiting for the CEC decision about the election's date.
PPDA members decided on a candidate for the mayor elections at the Saturday session of the party. The party didn't invite the press, even if the session should have been an opened one. Thus, Nastase refused to reply the journalists' questions.
For already four months, Andrei Nastase and Maia Sandu can't find a compromise on the elections. While PDA members pledge for equality on the uninominal constituencies, PAS leader pledges for a competition based on parties' rating.
