Andrian Candu and OSCE representatives held meeting to discuss the access to information and media law drafts
The access to information and regulatory standards for the media were discussed at the meeting of Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu and the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Press, Harlem Desir, honorary guest at the ADAMI Media Prize Gala, held this year under the auspices of the Speaker of the Parliament.
The President of the Parliament presented the projects adopted in the press field and elaborated by the Working Group on the improvement of Moldovan media law. For the first time, the experts and the professionals in the field have drafted legislative norms, voted by the Parliament, in line with Andrian Candu's commitment to set up the Working Group.
As for now, the Audiovisual Media Services Code of the Republic of Moldova, the National Media Development Concept, the Information Security Concept, the Law on attracting foreign investments in the field of film production and other audiovisual works have been adopted. The latest project is intended to encourage and facilitate the development of local media products, one of the main elements in the fight against misinformation and external propaganda.
Referring to the draft law on personal data protection, Andrian Candu said it will be voted on in the first reading to be submitted to debates and consultations with civil society.
