Andrian Candu: Chisinau Arena will permit to organize international competitions at a high level
Andrian Candu, the guest of the Topic of the day talk show talked bout the Chisinau Arena project.
"The Government is a working group examining all the details of everything feasibility, next week the feasibility study showing the cost of this land and the construction stages will be ready. Once the feasibility study is ready, the government will decides on the conditions of the international consortium and we expect that at the end of July the contest will be finalized and the investment contract will be finished", said Andrian Candu, the President of the Parliament.
After being asked if the project construction will last more than a year, the speaker said that possibly the construction of the project will take more than a year.
"If everything will go in agreement with the plan, then it will take just one year. This is a multifunctional hall, but, at the same time, we will be able to organize spectacles, cultural events, circus spectacles there. We have chosen a big land that belongs to the state. We are not selling this land, it will always belong to the state. Possibly, there will be a hotel near the arena. Also, we want to open an aqua park for children. It will be a center for all the citizens of the country and for our guests. We want to organize there the Wine Day, it will avoid the traffic jam from the Capital. There will be a parking place there. Al the people will have free access to the arena", said Andrian Candu, the President of the Parliament.
Also, Andrian Candu, talked about the state's role in constructing the Arena and the first trances. Moreover, the President of the Parliament declared that this will be a private-public project.
"First of all, the state will invest 200 million lei and the rest of the sum will be invested by foreign founders", said Andrian Candu.
Also, within the talk show, the issue of money that was planned for road repair was addressed. Regarding these speculations, Andrian Candu has firmly stated that this money is strictly for the roads.
"The money that gives her grandmothers for national roads is foreign money that the state contracts, and you can not direct them elsewhere, they are strictly controlled by foreign partners", said Andrian Candu, the Parliament Speaker.
At the same time, the deputies have already made the first step for building Chisinau Arena. The Parliament voted in the final reading, by a majority vote, the project that envisages the change of the destination of an agricultural land in Stăuceni village for the lifting of the ultra modern sports complex.
According to the concept, the Chisinau Arena will have a capacity of 5 000 places and will host different sportive events and conferences, spectacles and concerts. The costs of the project are worth 50 million euros and it will be covered mostly by foreign investors.
