The EU Council for Foreign Affairs appreciated the Chisinau Government's steps in implementing the reforms at the beginning of 2016.

Andrian Candu, the President of the Parliament declared in an interview for PRIME that the authorities form the community space urges the Chisinau politicians to continue the reforms that they started two years ago.

At the same time, the chief of the Parliament talked about strengthening the security from the region and a good expertise will be made within the Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Ukraine inter-parliamentary conference organized in Chisinau.

"I want to talk about the inter-parliamentary conference, but, first I want to comment on the Association Council's conclusions. There are a lot of positive conclusions on the 2016 report. What would you highlight?", said Alexei Lungu, journalist. 

"First of all, I want to say that the conclusions are made once in two years and, of course, those make reference to 2016. The conclusions show that we registered a progress, there is a positive change and a development. The new reforms already have an impact. Those urge the Republic of Moldova authorities to continue the reforms that started to be implemented in 2016 and continue till now.

It also denotes certain areas that are important not only for us, but for our foreign partners too, especially for the European Union. Here, I can exemplify though the press reform, justice reform, milliard robbery investigation. These elements urge the authorities to continue what we started in 2016-2017 period, but, on the other side, we should assume certain things and continue the reforms that we already started", declared Andrian Candu, the President of the Parliament.

"What would you reply to the opponents who attack on Facebook and highlight the problems we still have. There are a lot of speculations and probably, those will last for a period", said Alexei Lungu.

"I haven't seen any grave situations in the document emitted by the Brussels colleagues. We can only remark the areas where we should work. For example, there are rumors about the goods results of the electric energy sphere. To continue this project means implementing the third energetic batch. Also, there are rumors about the relationship with the civil society. We should cooperate with the civil society, for strengthening the legislation. Some of the conclusions are already realized, as we promised. I don't see any  bad things about these conclusions", said Andrian Candu, the President of the Parliament.

"I want to talk about the inter-parliamentary conference. What does it mean for the Republic of Moldova? How does this event put Republic of Moldova in the middle of the most important events from the Eastern Europe and the EU countries community?" asked Alexei Lungu.  

"First of all, we should remark that in Republic of Moldova we didn't have such a conference before. We have never hosted such an important event, not only for our country, but for other European countries too. This event is in an international visor.

Previous days, such newspapers as Washington Post and New York Times were writing about the event we organize this week. On the other side, the subjects of the summit are important not only for Republic of Moldova, but, also for the international community. The summit aims to discuss security and territorial integrity issues, as well as frozen conflicts issue. All these subjects are actual for the whole European Community.

Besides the political class, in Chisinau will come the Parliament Presidents of over than 10-12 countries and experts in security and European Integration. We managed to bring people from different spheres. I think that if the conference will pass on a high level, then, we can make it a tradition to organize such conferences each year in Chisinau", said Andrian Candu, the President of the Parliament.

"What expectations does Republic of Moldova have from this event?", asked Alexei Lungu.

"We host this event, but among the organizers we also have Georgia, Ukraine and the US Atlantic Council. First of all, we expect to see the experts' vision and recommendations for Republic of Moldova, but also for the countries from the region, how to face the challenges, how to continue our path. Also, we want to receive a mark for our activity and tell us how to deal in future.

In addition, it is always good to have friends who support you, gives you ideas and put you in a comfort and security zone. Here, in Chisinau, besides the three Parliaments, we should also unite the three Governments and make those cooperate in different spheres, such as energetic infrastructure, anti-propaganda measures, security and defense issues.

We should focus on common reforms, but not like a military block. We are a neuter country and we should focus more on military exercises and to take part of a military block. Also, we should make military exercises, that would help us to raise our defense capacity. Here, in Chisinau, we have very good experts, but, on the other side, we have valuable partners and finally, we can say that Republic of Moldova achieved an international level. Now, we can prove we did something significant, that we have something else on our reform agenda and can describe the challenges we face with", said Andrian Candu, the President of the Parliament. 

"What message do you have for the ones who will come at the inter-parliamentary summit?", asked Alexei Lungu.

"First of all, I would like to make the foreign partners feel good here, because Republic of Moldova is a very hospitable country and we can make others fell like home. At the same time, this conference will end up with some conclusions, recommendations, advice and decisions that will have a great impact on our citizens and on Republic of Moldova's development", mentioned Andrian Candu.
