Andrian Candu: lack of collaboration between institutions will pass with Constitutional Court's help
During PDM's meeting today, Andrian Candu has spoken regarding the apprehending of the Constitutional Court. At the same time, the official has shown his displeasure at the lack of collaboration between institutions.
"Today we have gathered at the Government in order to request the Constitutional Court to make a move and minimize the damage Igor Dodon is doing by not signing the promotion of Minister of Defence candidate. It has to be mentioned that there is already a decision made by the Constitutional Court, on 24th January 2017, stating that the President has to sign decision made by the Parliament, regardless of his own personal opinion. Yet President Dodon has breached the constitution twice by refusing to sign the promotion of the new Minister. At the moment there is no collaboration between institutions, but I believe we can pass this stage with the help of Constitutional Court."
PUBLIKA reminds that Eugen Sturza, PPEM Vice-President, was proposed as Defense Minister. The announcement was made by PDM chairman Vlad Plahotniuc.
President Igor Dodon did not accept the candidacy of Eugen Sturza, advanced by the ruling coalition for the appointment of defense minister. According to the head of state, he does not have the necessary experience. Instead, he proposed Victor Gaiciuc who held this responsibility during 2001-2004.
