Andrian Candu: Organizing REFERENDUM during PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS is the best moment
Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu said today at a press conference that the idea of organizing a referendum to reduce the number of deputies in the parliamentary elections is the most appropriate moment, taking into account the efficiency, cost and others.
"As I mentioned a few days ago, it was actually a misunderstanding of statements made by the bloc NOW. On one hand, a year ago, they supported the idea of reducing the number of Members, and that we launched the idea of revoking the mandate in the campaign of information for the change of the mixed system, we were accused of not consulting with the citizens.
Taking into consideration that such a good idea of the opposition, plus the allegations brought to us when we talked about the revocation of the mandate, we came to the conclusion that it is the right idea and context now in the parliamentary elections to talk about parliamentary reform, efficiency and even cost.
Respectively, the best new ideas we support and that is why we have brought them to consult with the citizens to promote the two subjects.
I am very sorry that the representatives of the opposition, especially those you have mentioned in the block NOW, do not support or participate in referendum debates, but they ask and ask the citizens to boycott and not participate in the referent. Because the referendum is very good for consultation, especially as we are on the eve of parliamentary elections", said Andrian Candu, the Speaker of Parliament.
