General Prosecutor's Office have opened another 17 cases against Gacikevici's group, that is supposedly responsible for the fraud from Banca de Economii. The announcement was made by General Prosecutor, Eduard Harunjen  during the Justice Committee meeting, where the institution's activity since 2017 was spoken of.

Harunjen also declared that new evidence is being discovered, proving various illegalities committed by former employees and third parties at the bank. Resulting a shady administration, Gacikevici's group supposedly stole over 1 billion lei.

Grigore Gacikevici was president of Banca de Economii during 2004-2012. According to the prosecutor's office, during that period, multiple laons were offered causing grave damage to the state budget.

Former president of Banca de Economii was arrested and investigated in multiple cases.
