National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) was equipped with mobile incinerator offered by Estonian Government in order to solve out the issue of dead bodies of animals buried or thrown on the ground.
In the outbreaks of swine fever, ANSA specialists buried animals in the affected areas. This method will no longer be applied, as it pollutes the underground waters.
One day, the incinerator can burn about 10 tons of animal scraps. It operates on diesel fuel, and consumes over 800 liters of fuel in a single destruction process.
Upon combustion, flour and fats are obtained, which can be used in the production of biogas and electricity.
Annually, Moldova needs to process almost 15,000 tonnes of animal waste.
