Anti propaganda law was promulgated by Andrian Candu
The anti propaganda law was promulgated this morning by Andrian Candu, the President of the Parliament.
The law targets to combat foreign propaganda that comes through the TV channels. The law refers only to the informative, analytic and military channels. The law will come into force after 30 days from its publishing in the Official Monitor.
The initiative to adopt this law belongs to Vlad Plahotniuc and it was supported by PDM. The law doesn't mean to close some TV channels, but some propagandistic TV programs.
The project targets TV stations retransmitted by states that have not ratified the European Convention on Transfrontier Television. This international act has not been ratified by the Russian Federation so far.
The document provides sanctions between 40 000 and 70 000 lei. In the case of repeating the propagandistic actions of some TV channels, the fine will be up to one hundred thousand lei.
