Armenia interested in Moldova experience in Diaspora, migration and development

A delegation from the Public Employment Service and the iMigrantArmeniaEU project in Armenia paid a working visit to the Diaspora Relations Office (BRD) of the State Chancellery on May 23rd.
The 16-member delegation, leaded by Artak Mangasaryan, the director of the Armenian Employment Service, has been familiar with the country's experience in Diaspora, Migration and Development (DMD) in order to take good practice. Also, discussed were the possibilities for mutual cooperation between the parties on the mutual exchange of information.
During the talks, Ghenadie Slobodeniuc, Deputy Head of BRD, said that the Diaspora Relations Office adapted the DMD field to national needs. The BRD Representative made a presentation of the Bureau's work, referring to the programs to be implemented in 2018: Diaspora Engagement Hub, Diaspora Days, Diaspora Congress, DOR and Diaspora Business Forum.
In this context, collaboration with the international partners of BRD - OIM, SDC, ICMPD was noted. At the same time, Ghenadie Slobodeniuc specified that the activity of the Bureau is in two distinct dimensions at the international level - the Global Compact Program and at the national level - "Strengthening the institutional framework of the Republic of Moldova in the field of migration and development" in the second stage.
In this context, it was discussed the D.O.D.E. Project, which involves training civil servants, return migrants and members of the Diaspora of the Republic of Moldova in the field of social entrepreneurship.
The Armenian delegation was interested in the issue of labor migration, how to support and communicate BRD with Moldovan communities living abroad. Also, interest was shown in the Diaspora Education Centers.
At the end of the meeting, representatives of the Employment Service of Armenia noted the activity of BRD, mentioning that through this visit the strengthening of the bilateral cooperation relations is being pursued.

The program of the visit includes meetings with the representatives of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, the National Confederation of Employers, the Organization for Development of the Small and Medium Enterprises Sector, the Project "Integration of Migration in Local Development" (UNDP) / United Nations Development Program in Moldova .
