The Moldovan Arts Museum hosts an exhibition dedicated to Romanian heroes having had the courage to rescue Jews during WWII, “Righteous among the Nations.”
Such people were decorated by Israel, as an alley in the Yad Vashem town was built to honor them.
The event has been organized by the Holocaust International Alliance, this year chaired by Romania.
"It’s important for all the responsible states to know their past in order not to repeat the same mistakes," said Daniel Ioniţă, the Romanian ambassador to Moldova.
"The holocaust was a tragedy in Moldova’s history and I think they should study more in schools about this tragic issue," said James Pettit, the US ambassador to Chișinău.
