Nearly 60 people are gathering now at the homeless shelter to pass over the freezing days of winter season. The shelter managers say they rejected no one.
The homeless don’t complain of the living conditions, being glad they can sleep in warmth, they have doctors to consult and food to feed themselves.
"I had to sleep outside frost for two weeks already. No warm clothes to wear. My pension is tiny. Then I came here, it's warm, clean. I'm given food on time", said a 93-year-old pensioner who has been living in this shelter for four days.
Apart from food and medical caring, the people also receive donated winter clothes.
"When they come here, first they are medically investigated, then take shower and receive warm clothes", said the shelter chief Vasile Minte.
The Chisinau shelter can lodge up to 100 people.
