The General Inspectorates of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova and Romania will carry out joint patrol activities along the state border. The Cabinet of Ministers approved today the Protocol on the Establishment and Activities of Joint Patrols at the Common State Border. The document was signed on 22 November 2018 at the joint meeting of the Governments of the Republic of Moldova and Romania.
The activity of the joint patrol teams along the common border will ensure the security of the Moldovan-Romanian state border and will also increase the fight against cross-border crimes, especially the illegal crossing of the state border for smuggling and illegal migration.
Mixed teams will operate on an area of 10 km from the border line on the territory of both states.
