Authorities strengthen efforts to streamline trafficking through PTF Giurgiulesti-Galati and PT Cahul-Oancea
The application of the most efficient solutions in the cases of passenger inflows and other problematic situations at the crossroads located at the Moldovan-Romanian border was the unanimously sustained message during a meeting between the managers of the Regional Directorate of SUD and the representatives of the Border Police in Romania.
At the end of last week, Moldovan and Romanian border police officers assessed the state of things at the Giurgiulesti-Galati and Cahul-Oancea crossing points, discussing the measures taken by both sides in the summer period to streamline cross-border traffic and actions in this respect for not allowing tail formation. Thus, it has been stated that the activity is carried out under increased regime, the number of employees is increased if necessary, the reading technique of the documents is used and the movement is allowed on all the control arteries.
At the same time, for the efficient control of the Moldovan-Romanian border crossing, the interlocutors decided to organize daily meetings between the chiefs of the territorial border subdivisions, as well as to perform the operative exchange of data in any unpredictable situation.
From the beginning of the summer to the present day, border guards from the Giurgiuleşti crossing point recorded 403,561 passengers and 137,940 passes of the means of transport. The Cahul crossing point is also one of the most requested points during the summer season, with 366 146 crossings and 83 280 passages. The busiest days are the weekend, starting Friday after dinner.
