The average salary in the first quarter was slightly over 5,900 lei, up 13 percent from the similar period in 2017, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics.

The highest salaries are paid by IT employees - over 13 thousand lei per month.

The second place is the ones working in the financial and banking sector and the insurance sector. Their salaries exceed 11,000 lei.

The employees of electricity and natural gas production and supply companies are on top.

On the opposite side are the wages offered to Moldovans in the field of culture. These employees receive around 3700 lei.

People in tourism and public catering are paid just over 4000 lei
