Today  , after the capital repair, the swimming pool from the theoretical lyceum "George Meniuc", from the Rascani sector of the capital. It is the only objective of this kind that has been renovated in recent years. The event was attended by Interim General Mayor, Ruslan Codreanu and officials of the Municipal Education, Youth and Sport Directorate.

The renovation costs of 3 million lei were covered from the municipal budget through the Capital Construction Department.   

Ruslan Codreanu said that this swimming pool is currently the most modern objective of the existing educational institutions in Chisinau. Complies with all the quality standards, creating optimum conditions for swimming. "We need such recreational and educational areas in every high school in the city to give children a favorable environment for development and swimming will help them practice a healthy lifestyle", said the mayor of the Capital.

After renovation, about 400 students in grades 2 to 4 attend swimming classes. Children are permanently supervised by 5 swimming coaches. By the end of the current month, a new weekly schedule will be developed to allow more children in the educational institution to practice swimming. In the "George Meniuc" high school, 1200 students are studying.

The swimming pool at George Meniuc Highschool has a surface of 60 m² (12 mx 5 m). It has locker rooms, showers and a ventilation, filtration and water heating system. allocate about 1.3 million lei.
