Belarus to step up cooperation with World Bank
The Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister and the new World Bank Country Director for Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine have discussed promising projects in road construction in Belarus and improving water quality in the capital.
Anatoly Kalinin paid much attention to the construction of the M-6 Minsk-Grodno highway.
The Belarusian side expects to get support for the construction of another 76 kilometers of the road. Also, the meeting discussed the implementation of infrastructure projects in Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Russia with the participation of Belarusian construction workers.
The World Bank is helping Belarus to implement a number of projects. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the total loan amount has approached a billion dollars.
The World Bank has been offered joint projects in housing and utility sphere, in particular, to take part in the transition to using 100% of water from underground sources in Minsk. The project is estimated at 60 million dollars, Belteleradiocompany reports.
