Belarusian electric buses could be assembled in Chisinau
Electric buses could be assembled at Chisinau. The intention was expressed during the visit of Prime Minister Pavel Filip to the Belkommunmash plant in Minsk, which specializes in the production of public electric transport units.
In this sense, it was discussed the possibility of setting up a Moldovan-Belarusian joint-venture assembly of electric buses in Chisinau.
"This is actually the public transport of the future, we want to assemble these buses in Chisinau, so we will be able to export to other countries a product that is assembled in the Republic of Moldova", said Pavel Filip.
The prime minister had the opportunity to test the electric bus, which is a transport not only ecological but also economical. It feeds from the power source in 5 minutes, every 4 hours of travel.
There are already 20 electric buses in Minsk, and by the end of next year, another 60 units will be in circulation.
Together with the Belkommunmash plant, 15 new trolleybuses were assembled this year in Chisinau, and more than 110 units in total.
Belkommunmash transport units are used in over 70 cities in Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Serbia, Kazakhstan, Latvia and South America.
