Belarusian premier ACCEPTS Moldovan counterpart's invitation to visit Moldova
Moldova’s prim-minister Pavel Filip has met with his Belarusian counterpart Andrey Kobyakov in Bishkek. The meeting has been in the context of the reunion of CIS premiers taking place these days in Kyrgyzstan.
Pavel Filip and Andrey Kobyakov have mentioned the positive dynamics of the dialogue between the two Cabinets, underlining there are favorable premises to deepen the cooperation in terms of trade and investment
Premier Pavel Filip has shown interest to boost Moldova’s food exports on the Belarusian and Eurasian Union markets, mentioning the opportunity of keeping the so-called ‘green corridor’ for the perishable produce.
Premier Filip has suggested to strengthen the production capacities of the Chjisinau-based facilities to assemble Belarusian trolleybuses and tractors in order to export them to the EU.
The Moldovan prime-minister has also invited companies from Belarus to build roads in Moldova and use the Giurgiuleşti port to export fertilizers.
Andrei Kobyakov has confirmed the interest of the Belarusian side to speed up the trade and to continue the cooperation in producing (farming) machinery: tractors, mini-combines and trolleybuses.
The Belarusian Cabinet chief has accepted Pavel Filip’s invitation to visit Moldovan this year.
They plan to hold a sitting of the trade and economy intergovernmental committee and a business forum, on that occasion.
Belarus is one of Moldova’s key economic and trade partners. The bilateral trade was USD44.7 million in the first quarter of 2016.
