Cabinet kicks off negotiations with EU on two funding accords
The Government has decided to start talks with the European Union regarding two financing agreements with a total amount of EUR90 mn.
They are aim at enhancing the capacities of the central authorities to carry out the commitments assumed in the Association Deal between Moldova and the EU.
Almost 62 million will be disbursed as technical assistance to strengthen capacities in these sectors: central public administration reform, agriculture and rural development, police and border management.
More support will be provided to small and medium-sized businesses, to the improvement of rural water and sewer infrastructure, and to the consolidation of power efficiency.
The beneficiaries’ own contribution is 1.11 million.
The second agreement, amounting to 29 million, is meant to enhance the coordinating capacities to coordinate projects, to develop space data national infrastructure and to counteract money laundering.
