Cabinet of Ministers approved the project regarding organization and functioning of Agency for Energy Efficiency
The Government approved today the draft law regarding the organization and functioning of the Agency for Energy Efficiency.
"The draft decision was elaborated in order to implement the provisions of art. 30, par. (8) of the Law on Energy Efficiency (in new editorial), which has the reorganization of the Energy Efficiency Agency through merger (absorption) with the Energy Efficiency Fund, the revision of the institutional framework for the implementation of policies in the field of energy efficiency and valorisation of energy sources renewable, and capacity-building of the policy implementation authority", said Minister Chiril Gaburici.
The draft Regulation establishes the mission, areas of activity, attributions, rights, organization of the Agency for Energy Efficiency, financial instruments, project management, as well as its organizational structure.
The Energy Efficiency Agency's mission is to implement state energy efficiency policy, including by attracting and managing financial resources to fund and promote projects in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy. Thus, the Agency will fulfill not only the classical tasks specific to the administrative authority, related to the management of the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy but will also have the role to develop and implement mechanisms for project financing in the respective fields.
