Candu replies to Tap: It is about Constitution of Republic of Moldova. And all proposals are made for this country and for Constitution
The Parliament Speaker, Andrian Candu, called for the draft Constitution to be voted on. The project debated in the first reading provides for the introduction of the European vector into the Supreme Law. During the parliamentary session, President Andrian Candu answered several questions, including LDPM MP Iurie Ţap.
Iurie Tap, PLDM Deputy: How will the citizens who actually expect from us the achievement of the desiderata: democracy, the rule of law, the citizens' fundamental rights and freedoms, the three pillars of the European values. Why do not we reach the agreement, but we introduce in the Constitution what will be the value in this case? ", Asked Iurie Ţap, deputy PLDM.
In this context, Andrian Candu, Parliament Speaker, also answered the LDPM leader's question.
"The Democratic Party and Governance will somehow manage, including the messages coming from Brussels and the rest." Yes, there are mistakes and mistakes have been made, some of which depended on the Government, others that did not depend on the Government , but thanks to the system that has been created, including for many years and including, and with the help of your dear colleagues from PLDM with whom we have been together in the coalitions.
Regarding the legality of this power, legality and usurpation, today we are not discussing this. These proposals for amending the Constitution are not being made for governance today, but we are making them for generations to come to power, including here in parliament.
And so. It is not the constitution of the Democratic Party. It is the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova. And the proposals that are, are made for the country and for the Constitution. And more, I am sure Mr Tap, I am sure that if today you were not in opposition, but you would have been in a coalition whatever it was, you would have voted today without any reservation whatsoever in the Constitution.
But now we are talking about sincerity, I am sincere. Yes, governing is not easy. Yes, governance also makes mistakes, it is important to learn from those mistakes. But at the same moment of sincerity, I will also ask you to be sincere and when you wake up tomorrow to think about your chance today or not when you decide how you vote", said Andrian Candu, Parliament Speaker.
The draft law on the Constitution was proposed by a group of PDM and PPEM deputies, and the initiative belongs to the leader of the Democrats. Modifications to the supreme law require 67 votes.
