The Capital City Hall will have an elevator for the persons with disabilities. This initiative of the authorities came after a couple of associations requested the authorities to do it.
The news was a good one for Serghei Afanasenco, the former minister of Youth and Sports. He wants to assist the public sessions of the City hall, but it is very difficult for him to go to the second floor.
The sportsman says that after installing the elevator, the number of persons with disabilities who will attend the City Hall's session will increase.
"We will be able to come to the City Hall sessions. All the humans have equal rights", said Serghei Afanasenco, member of the Persons with Disabilities Association.
The cost of the project reaches 1,8 million lei and it will be covered by the municipality.
"The elevator will provide the access of the persons with disabilities to the municipal institutions", said Nistor Grozavu, the vice-mayor of the Capital.
The work will be finished by this autumn.
