Representatives from the National Food Safety Agency have confirmed an outbreak of African swine fever in the Cărpineni village, Hincesti district.
A group of veterinary inspectors arrived on site and will liquidate the outbreak through disinfection and deratization in pigsties with affected animals. The region is currently under quarantine.
Two control points were established at the village's entrance and exit. During the quarantine period people can cut pigs only in the presence of a veterinarian, but it is forbidden to sell pork in the commune, or taking it to other regions.
During this year, the outbreaks of swine fever were recorded in Soroca, Edinet and Donduseni.
