Case of death in Drochia: Pavel Filip infuriated by medics' irresponsibility, requesting penal punishments
Premier Pavel Filip demanded the criminal punishment of people involved in the case of Niculina Bulat, the young woman who died in the hospital due to the complications and inaction of doctors from the Drochia district and Balti municipal hospital.
"On the night of October 21, Niculina Bulat was hospitalized to the Drochia Hospital, suffering serious pains, with a hole in her belly where liquid flowed. But doctors told they could not help, they did not have an ambulance, suggesting that she should find transport and leave for specialists' help in Bălți. She came to Bălţi by private transport where the liquid was extracted from her belly, the hole was stitched, paved and she sent home with another transport.
After ZdG wrote about this case, yesterday, November 2, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection organized an ambulance that transported her from Drochia and hospitalized in the Emergency Hospital in Chisinau.
Her condition was very serious, one of the problems was a strangled hernia in the place where her stomach cracked.
Meanwhile, in the 10 days after the night of October 21, there was necrosis and ulcers, which amplified her pains and sufferings and rushed to death, "writes Ziarul de Gardă.
The prime minister convened an emergency meeting in which he urged the Ministry of Health officials to identify for one week all the culprits that caused the woman death.
"We don't need a profound investigation to understand who is guilty. You have a week for that mission. I would like to know all people involved in this case. It's not about medical assistance, not about doctors but about human being, attitude. It seems to me that we start to slip into a moral crisis in this area.
"I don't need only resignation but also criminal responsibility. Let's make a request to prosecutors to examine this case. I shall follow this case personally" said Prime Minister Pavel Filip.
