Cash-in-hand jobs ongoing in Moldova regardless of warnings

Working under the table is still practiced in Moldova, regardless of continuous warnings.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, 51 percent of all employees worked in the service sector, an increase by 2.2%.
In the agricultural sector, 32% of the employed labor force was registered, decrease by 5% compared to the previous year.
Statistical data also reveals that last year 6.2 percent of people employed cash-in-hand jobs. Good thing is this phenomenon decreased 7.1 percent compared to 2016.
Unreported employment was registered mostly in agriculture sector, 40 percent and in trade sector, 20 percent.
Employers who pay salaries to unreported employees risk a fine of up to 75,000 lei for each employee.
