CEB will loan Moldova 12 mln Euro, for the acquisition of 168 new Ambulances
Council of Europe Development Bank has approved today to give Republic of Moldova a loan of 12 million Euro, to renew the ambulances of the National Pre-hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Center.
Therefore, 168 new ambulances will following be purchased, out of which 35 will be type c ambulances and 133 type b ambulances. Once the old vehicles will be replaced, the number of interventions of the National Pre-hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Center will increase, while the quality of services will improve as well as the waiting time decrease, especially in rural areas.
The modernize the station, the Government has allocated 51 million lei for 69 ambulances to be purchased. The first 10 vehicles have already reached the country, while by the end of the month another 59 will be delivered. The ambulances will be spread among 32 pre-hospital emergency medical units, where the degree of wear of the ambulances is over 90%, in the Central, Northern, Southern Moldova and Găgăuzia.
The National Pre-hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Center offers medical services to the 3 550 852 people living in Republic of Moldova, free of charge and non stop. In 2017, the service assisted around 868.411 thousand people.
