CEC announces preliminary results after processing 99.42-per-cent of ballots
The Central Election Commission presented the preliminary results of the elections of the President of the Republic of Moldova.
99.42-per-cent of ballot lists have been processes of the total number of minutes. Thus, Igor Dodon has accumulated - 48.23% and 38.42% - Maia Sandu.
The other candidates were ranked as follows:
Iurie Leanca PPEM - 3.11%;
Dumitru Ciubaşenco - 6.03%;
Mihai Ghimpu, PL-1.8%;
Valeriu Ghileţchi - 1.08%;
Maia Laguta - 0.75%;
Silvia Radu - 0.4%;
Ana Gutu - 0.17%.
According to preliminary data, the turnout was 49.03% or 1,436,241 voters.
1,326,622 basic lists were used, and 109 619 addictional ones. The highest turnout was registered in Chisinau, 352.585 voters or 54.43% being presented at the polls.
The lowest turnout rate was registered in Cantemir district, 19.981 voters have participated at the voting, which constitutes 40.07-per-cent.
In Balti municipality, 54 756 voters or 51.24% of the total number of voters included on basic lists have voted.
According to the information, 67.150 voters were presented at the polling stations abroad. A high participation was registered in:
- Italy - 21 904 voters;
- Romania - 9440 voters;
- France - 5139 voters;
- Russian Federation - 4578 voters;
- UK - 4002 voters.
The second round of residential elections will takes place 2 weeks after the first ballot, the date being established by CEC.
