A new social service for children aged 4 months to 3 years will be established by local public authorities, informs moldpres.md.

It involves the creation of day-care centers in communities, which will accommodate up to 12 children.

According to the Framework Regulation on the organization and operation of the Day Care Center for children aged 4 months and 3 years approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, the Center will provide assistance to children in accordance with their individual developmental circumstances, strengthen parental and will support families in solving identified problems.

Children will be admitted to the Center at the request of the parent or the person who need the care. In the service, children will benefit from nutrition, life skills training, behavioral skills development.

Since 2011, this service has been developed and piloted in the municipalities of Chisinau, Balti and the city of Glodeni, where six such Centers have been established. These are intended for solitary mothers and families in crisis.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, during the Center's operation, the risk prevention rate for child separation was 90%.
